Tolulope Tunde-Ajiboye is a dynamic speaker and founder of Blooming Amazons Ministry (BLAM), an inspired ministry that is focused on supporting women to discover and live in the reality of being all God has called them to be. She has a burning passion for young marriages, as she got into the institution at a young age of 22, being a light to other women in this regards. Lets learn a little about this wife and mother as she prepares for her upcoming BLAM conference.
Please tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Tolulope Tunde-Ajiboye nee Soyege. My early years were spent in a suburb in Lagos called Iju. I’m the only daughter and have an elder brother who is 16 months older than me.I attended Lagos State Model College Meiran which was a lot of fun . My parents are Methodist and were quite active in Church , which automatically got my brother and I involved. I remember being in the choir as young as 5 years old, I was also in the Girls Brigade, so we had a reason to go to church almost everyday. The best part was the trek from our home to our church Elliot Memorial Methodist church which was like a 5km walk with other children, making stops when each child arrived at their home. Life growing up was without cares and so innocent.
Now you married quite early weren’t you nervous and how has matrimony been ?
To be sincere, I wasn’t nervous at all about getting married. Right from my days in the University, I had always known that my NYSC * Year was going to be a very significant chapter of my life and would include marriage. When I met my husband, I just knew this was the person I was going to be doing forever with. I remember on our second date, He said to me “I will marry you” and I told Him “I will marry you right back” (laughs)
He was a young but promising banker at the time , and for me where he was at that time didn’t matter much. I knew with him, I could weather life’s storm and challenges and together like we love to say, we would build a lasting dynasty. Our love story is funny like that but everyday is not a carnival in our home, this year particularly our love and marriage has been tested, but Christ has always been at the centre .
Through the changing seasons of our lives and as we both evolve, He’s been with us and I am reminded of Ecclesiastes 4:12AMP
” and though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken”
Tell us about BLAM, what inspired you to start it?
Well, I would say BLAM is at the core of my being, it is one reason I was born. It is a call, It is destiny, It is purpose. I look back at my life and precept upon precept, line upon line , God has orchestrated and ordered my life to where it is today, so that even in the trials and through the many victories His name would be glorified.
Just like Mordecai said to Esther Esther 4:14 NKJV
“ For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
I was born for such a time as this ,my passion for seeing people particularly young women live full irrespective of their past or all the odds that might be against them. So my passion drove me to my purpose.
Tell us about this year’s event, what informed your choice of speakers and what impact do you hope to achieve through them?
Undaunted is one of BLAM’s conferences where we have older women speak to younger women from their own real life experiences according to Titus 2:3-5 TPT Likewise with the female elders, lead them into lives free from gossip and drunkenness and to be teachers of beautiful things. This will enable them to teach the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, and to be self-controlled and pure, taking care of their household and being devoted to their husbands. When they do these things the word of God will not be discredited.
The purpose of BLAM conference is to charge them by the spirit of God to remain undaunted inspite of their current situation .Our speakers are prayerfully selected women who have attained some level of success and are thriving at what they have been called to.
Mrs Ochuko Momoh – Serial Entrepreneur and Founder Praying women
Mrs Nkechi Harry Ngonadi- Fashion Icon, Creative Director of NHN Couture and Revivalist
Pastor Seun Uwubanmwen- Co Pastor His Treasure House and Sort After Speaker
Rev Laurie Idahosa- Preacher, Author and Wife of Bishop Feb Idahosa
How are you able to combine BLAM with a full time job and being a wife and mother
Honestly, I don’t know how I do it, people ask me all the time . I believe if God has called you, He equips you for the assignment . Also, I have surrendered all of my life to Him, afterall my husband , He gave me, my children, They are not actually mine but His, my career, He gave me to honour him with, so I lean completely on Him. The word of God has always been my anchor and like Philippians 4: 6-7 I try not to worry about anything but prayerfully hand it over to God.
How has having the right support system and a supportive spouse helped you fulfil all you do
Well, while dating my husband, we had talked a lot about the future and we both know that fulfillment would come only when both of us fulfilled our individual purposes and together our collective purpose. So, with every new season in our lives, we know we have to be there for each other, sometimes adjusting to the new phase isn’t so smooth, but hey…. we have forever to go, so somehow we get through it.
I’m really grateful for the support system from him especially , I particularly remember while I was in Bible school, my Husband was more or less both mother and father. When the children were ill , He took them to the clinic, administered medications, and nurtured them back to health all in my absence inspite of his busy schedule so I don’t have to come back to all of that. This is just one of the many instances, I’m very grateful. Our extended family too is also very supportive.
What advice do you have for young women especially those with young children who are trying to find self and discover purpose ?
I will advice young people to be themselves, your uniqueness is in your authenticity. I have come to realize that even the “so called” set backs in our lives are all part of our process.
We are called to be salt and light, we are supposed to stand out not fit in, so we shouldn’t fall for all the pressures to seek approval. Our validation should be in the finished works of Christ on the cross.
Luke 6:26 MSG “There’s trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth contests—look how many scoundrel preachers were approved by your ancestors! Your task is to be true, not popular.” Popularity comes in the process of being true.
We live in a world filled with images of false perfections , and a lot of people are under pressure ..What advice do you have for young people ?
I’m one person who believes you can have it all , but you must be willing to pay the price. The price sometimes might be taking out time to focus on what matters most per time, but do not crumble in the face of challenges or opposition. After all, God didn’t promise us it would be easy, He only promised He would never leave nor forsake us.
Undaunted is one meeting every young woman who is serious should not miss, I honestly wish I wasn’t part of the planning but was just coming to attend like everyone else, because of the things I know God has in store.
See you all Dec 1st , NUC Auditorium, Maitama 9am
All the best!
