Right before your very eyes!

I know you guys may not believe this but it is a true story. Just recently we received a tip off that one of our ex employees ( Nna) planned to steal the mercury in our grandfather clock. Apparentely mercury is very expensive and he told our informant (lets call him Sam) that they could sell the mercury for 2 million naira. Well, Sam told Nna that he would think about it and came to us immediately to say what had transpired. Sam made it clear  he would be happy to help us set a trap for Nna. A few […]

So You Think You Can Dance!

Abeg make una come help me oh! My son hardly ever gets picked at dancing competitions at birthday parties. Whenever it’s time to dance he is always taken out early, I must admit though: the boy no too sabi dance! I honestly wish those silly party clowns would be a little nicer. Sometimes they make silly comments like “why you dey dance like say you wan go toilet”. I usually try and laugh over such things with him, but at times you can tell that he is hurt. He and a little girl danced at a party today and my […]

Testimony Time!

In my church, the last Sunday of the month is usually set aside for thanksgiving and testimonies. Quite a lot were shared today but the ones that touched me the most were: 1. This was shared by a classmate of mine (lets call her A). It just shows that every disappointment can be a major blessing. In this case her disappointment was that her period had unexpectedly turned up a day before her wedding. She was very upset about it but God is so awesome! On the way to her new home with her husband a gang of 10 robbers […]

Sad Story

I just read this yesterday in The Guardian and it broke my heart. Another reason why parents shouldn’t fight or argue in front of the kids no matter their age. This is so tragic… read on: Quarrelling Parents Stab Baby To Death. … The Guardian learnt that the scream of the baby attracted residents and on getting to the scene they met the young baby in the pool of her blood while the parents watched helplessly. …Sources said the parents were allegedly fighting and one of them attempted to stab the other with a knife only to wound the […]

Breastfeeding Is Best!

Okay, I know that sounds a bit corny but I am so passionate about mums breastfeeding. Check out http://www.breastfeedingroom.com/ and let me know what you think. On my website I want to help mothers who want to breastfeed but have problems doing so. I also aim to dispel myths about breastfeeding such as: “you can’t breastfeed when pregnant” “you can’t get pregnant when breastfeeding exclusively” (I did!), and “kids who aren’t breastfed are olodos” (hmm… I wonder how I got through Law School) LOL! Anyway, feel free to visit my site and ask any questions. I am currently studying to be […]

Talk Shows And Stuff…

Something I have never been able to understand is why Mo Abudu airs her show only on Mnet (well until now). NTA has started airing episode’s of her show ‘Moments With Mo’ and I am looking forward to seeing it. Some people say she’s an Oprah wannabe while others say she has her own style and is doing a great job. Whatever the case maybe, I look forward to watching the show. I never quite understood why it was only aired on cable; even Oprah started on her local Chicago stations. Talking about shows, one show I enjoy watching is […]

Religious Tolerance

Religious intolerance is something I am so not used to especially as I have experienced growing up with Muslim cousins. Growing up, we were raised to respect and love each other irrespective of religious or tribal persuasions. That’s why I was totally shocked when I heard about the senseless killing of Mrs. Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwaseesin by some Muslim secondary school students last week in Gombe State. Gombe was carved out of the old Borno State and it is a beautiful place. According to the deceased’s husband Mr Micheal Oluwaseesin who was out of town when the unfortunate incident occurred. “From […]
