I hardly ever saw my parents argue, not because they didn’t but because they had the good sense not to argue in front of us. I and my husband on the other hand have been quite silly because we argue in front of them all the time. Of recent I started telling my husband to mind the kids, and his response has been ” they don’t understand” which is quite absurd because I know that I remember stuff from when I was 3 and my son is 4! Well, last weekend we had another minor argument and my 4 year […]
A picture of Beyonce and her daughter, Amarachi. Okay, it’s not the Beyonce we all know. It’s Beyonce Iwuchukwu, from Utuh Anambra State lol! A friend of mine saw this picture in the village around mother’s day and was like “hmm… that lady looks familiar” LOL!
Something I have never been able to understand is why Mo Abudu airs her show only on Mnet (well until now). NTA has started airing episode’s of her show ‘Moments With Mo’ and I am looking forward to seeing it. Some people say she’s an Oprah wannabe while others say she has her own style and is doing a great job. Whatever the case maybe, I look forward to watching the show. I never quite understood why it was only aired on cable; even Oprah started on her local Chicago stations. Talking about shows, one show I enjoy watching is […]
Thanks darkelcee. I haven’t had internet access for a while (still don’t) but I am good. Thanks for all the comments on my last post, I am trying to be extra watchful now. I am so impressed with how well my hair is doing. I cut it in June 2006 and decided to let it grow natural and IT’S BEEN TOUGH! You guys, natural hair is so crazy! You can barely do anything with it and sometimes combing it is torture -but as it grows it gets easier. I now know how to comb it and what kind of products can […]
Abeg make una come help me oh! Solomonsydelle, how do you do it? It’s not easy with 3 small kids -even with a help! This morning I was in my room with my kids while their nanny was with the baby (or so I thought) next thing, my almost 3 year old leaves my room and comes back in with what looks like powder on his face “Mummy I put powder”. I smiled at him and wondered to myself how he had gotten hold of the powder as I had tried to put it beyond his reach. Next thing I […]
I can be really emotional and needy. I remember coming home as a child and crying to my mum “No one loves me mummy”. Over the years, through the knowledge of Christ, I have become much less needy but I still yearn for earthly friendships. Of course my best friends are in my immediate family, but apart from them I often ask myself who really are my friends. It’s funny because people who “know” me will swear I have tons of friends, as I seem to know everyone, but knowing people and having friends are two different things. My seeming […]
“Love is a beautiful thing” goes the line of a popular song, and I totally agree. True love (not lust or infatuation) is truly a beautiful thing and for me, nothing paints the picture of true love more than seeing an old couple holding hands and looking lovingly into each others eyes. When I think of true love, I think about my folks -now my parents aren’t the type given to open displays of affection but you could feel the love in the air when they were together. Whenever they were apart for long stretches my dad (of blessed memory) […]
