It was World Disability day recently!
As we celebrate persons living with disabilities it is also important to celebrate all the amazing mums who are doing so much for their special children.
Mums who in spite of theย difficulties and discrimination go the extra mile to ensure these children are loved and cared for.
I celebrate mums like Amina Yahaya Bello the lovely wife of the Executive Governor of Kogi Stateย who takes superb care of her son and founded the @hayatfoundation to ensure that other children living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities get excellent care.

I celebrate mums like Lady Catherine who despite being told to allow her daughter die by “friends’ gave her all to ensure she was well taken care of.
If you are raising a child that is disabled or that has special needs just know that you are not alone. Reach out and seek help and may the Lord continue to help you.

I celebrate all the amazing mothers world over looking after their special children…some of them have even started NGOs and other initiatives to help other mums deal with similar issues.
What other things can we do to help parents of children with special needs or disabilities?
